Our local town is Garstang is a historic market town. It has a population of about five thousand. In 2000 the people of Garstang voted virtually unanimously for Garstang to become the world's first Fairtrade Town, for more information about Fairtrade look at www.fairtrade.org.uk where you will find the work of Fairtrade explained. It is home to the following supermarkets :- EH Booths, Sainsburys and Co-op. Market day in Garstang is a Thursday.
